Task Objectives

The U.S. Geological Survey tested sample design, sample collection, and analytical protocols for conducting a soil geochemical survey of North America. Airborne gamma-ray data existed in all the pilot study areas considered to test these protocols. Radioelement maps for each pilot area helped guide sample collection and design. The objective of this task was to produce maps and information on radioelelement distribution in selected pilot study areas. The maps and informaion helpd test sampling designs and map stability.
