Photo of thin section. CRMRSC scientists ensure the availability of reliable national geologic, geochemical, geophysical, and mineral locality data for the United States. Current studies provide regional background values for chemical elements in soils and the creation and maintenance of a digital geochemical database of various geologic material (soil, stream sediments, rocks) collected and analyzed by the USGS.
