Surveys and Analysis

The objective of the Surveys and Analysis Project, in cooperation with the State Geological Surveys, is to develop regional and national datasets categorized in four major themes: geology, mineral deposits, geochemistry, and geophysics. These datasets provide the foundation for studies to understand earth processes and to allow the development of a standard set of integrated GIS bases and interpretive products that address regional and national land-use, mineral development, and mineral-environmental issues.
